Makes Me Smile
I can feel the rain from that October storm.
It was so very long ago, but I remember it so clearly
And I could cry just knowing how the whole thing ended,
And how it doesn’t seem fair, when I loved you so deeply, so dearly.
But it makes me smile, remembering what it was like to hold you
The wonder that it was just to behold you, and when I told you
That you make me smile- I knew that it would surely last forever.
Oh, sometimes life is such a difficult endeavor, when we’re not together.
But you still make me smile.
There were times when I thought my life was ending-
But now the passage of time has healed my wounds almost completely.
Oh, how I tried, tried to forget about your vivid eyes.
And how they’d sparkle in the sun when you looked at me so fondly, so sweetly.
But now I smile, remembering how it felt to be near you.
Sometimes I’d almost swear I could still hear you; how I endear you.
It makes me smile, I thought that it would surely last forever,
Oh, sometimes life is such a difficult endeavor- well I surrender.
Cause you still make me smile.
It makes me smile, whenever I get caught daydreaming of you
And how I swore that there was no one else above you- how I love you.
You make me smile- I knew that it would surely last forever.
Oh, sometimes life is such a difficult endeavor- when we’re not together-
But you’re the one who always makes me smile.
